What is it about little boys and bathing?
In our family, my husband, daughter and I love to bathe. My nine-year-old son, however, hates the idea of taking a bath or a shower. In fact, it is an ongoing battle. Once he is actually in the bath or shower he seems to enjoy himself. Often he’ll even stay in the tub for quite a while, but coaxing him to do this is exacerbating.
Of course, I have done the unthinkable and tried to bribe him with dessert, television or extra snuggle time. I’ve also told him how wonderful he smells after his bath. He loves to snuggle with me and there is nothing I enjoy more than that clean little body all shampooed and washed next to mine. But nothing seems to help. I have even asked him outright what it is about bathing that he doesn’t like and I have never gotten an answer. Each week, it continues to be a struggle. At this point, I only pick my battle about every three days.
Every week I wonder, when will he decide for himself that he enjoys bathing? I would be thrilled to hear from other moms with older boys if this aversion to bathing is something my son will outgrow. I assume it is, but in the meantime, I am holding my breath waiting!

Maybe this helps?

Friends of mine have such a led shower head, and it feels like bathing in light. When I visited them, I was “enchanted”.
Since they have it, their son likes to take a shower .. especially as the bathroom has no window, and then the water really glows.
Good luck

My son is 15, and it’s only been within the past six months that he doesn’t have to be told to shower every evening. There may be some correlation between bathing and an interest in girls.
